300 DPI.
DPI stands for dots per inch. This determines the resolution of an image or file. Literally, it means: number of dots per 2,54 cm (1 inch). The more dots per 2.54 cm, the higher the quality or resolution of the image. 300 DPI is the optimum standard, 150 DPI is the minimum.
To check whether your image is large enough for printing you can calculate this by dividing the number of pixels on both sides by 118.
For example:
In windows explorer you see a size of 700x429 pixels.
Then calculate this as follows:
700:118=5.93 cm
429:118=3.64 cm
This image can be printed at most 5.93 cm by 3.64 cm.
If we enlarge the image, the quality will decrease and you will see pixels.
